Free Foreclosure Prevention and Intervention Workshop

On the first and third Thursday of every month, we open our doors for a FREE information workshop on foreclosure prevention and intervention. This workshop starts at 6:00pm and we are located at 20 Merrimack Street, Manchester, NH 03101, in downtown Manchester. If you are a homeowner experiencing financial difficulty, it is important to understand your options.

In the workshop, you will learn:

  1. Steps to take to avoid foreclosure
  2. Workout options, including short sales and mortgage loan modifications
  3. The loss mitigation process and documentation required
  4. The foreclosure timeline in the State of New Hampshire
  5. How to avoid scams and predatory lending practices
  6. Information about President Obama’s “Making Home Affordable Plan”
  7. How to write a financial hardship letter and prepare a household budget

If after attending the seminar, you feel you need additional assistance, NWGM offers confidential, one-on-one counseling to help you to review your current financial situation and to develop a workable plan to meet your needs.

In your counseling session, our counselor will:

  1. Review your income and your expenses and help you to develop a realistic budget
  2. Assist you with writing a financial hardship letter
  3. Review possible options available to enable you to meet your mortgage obligations
  4. Determine the cause of the delinquency and discuss with you the appropriate actions to cure your delinquency and, if possible, avoid foreclosure
